Ray Emory, 75, of Houston, Texas, passed away November 25, 2022. He was born in North Carolina on June 12, 1947 to Eugene Emory and Doreen Petty Emory. He was married to Joann Kurrus-Emory for 37 years.
Ray had a career in computers and electronics for Technip, Raytheon, Simsci, Shell, and Aspen Technology Modcomp in Florida. He was a member of the Air Force for 4 years and served in Vietnam. He had a passion for watching professional golf, Formula 1 car racing, noir movies, reading, Carolina basketball, the Astros, and had an extensive vinyl collection.
He is survived by his second wife- Joann Kurrus-Emory, Brother, Sam, sister-in-law Meridith Emory, sister, Lorraine Emory, Niece- Arwen Rowland, Nephew, Philip Emory and wife Lilly, nephew-in-law Jerry Rowland, sons, Todd and Chad Emory, stepsons, Mike and Marcus Minton, has 5 grandchildren with Todd and wife Faith, Lydia Grace, Graham, Elise (adopted from China), Lidia Salen and Samuel (adopted from Ethiopia). Sam Emory and family live in North Carolina, Mike and Marcus as well as brother and sister in laws Theo and Susy Kurrus live in FLA, Todd Emory and family and Chad Emory live in Tulsa, OK.
