Eugene was born February 22, 1940 to Adolf A Hoepfl and Lillie Annie Morsaik. Born into a hard working family during uncertain times and he grew with the family business helping as needed before age 7 and driving a Commercial wrecker in a less hectic Houston at age 14, before becoming a professional mechanic and businessman. As Part of the First graduating Class of St. Pius he was an avid participant in church activities as well as in most sports available at the time, football, baseball, track and basketball. He met a wonderful girl he made his wife for 56 years until her Death in March 2019. Virginia Theresa Bench was his partner in life and business, joining and competing with him in outdoor activities as well. During his time at Adolf Hoepfl and Son Garage he had some customers coming to shop for three or more generations for trusted auto repair. He was wonderful man who postponed continuing to travel to take care of his wife during over a decade of illness as it was the right thing to do and that she was his world. He will be missed greatly by many. Gene was known to all as a kind man with great values.
