Eugene Michael Hoepfl passed away peacefully in the evening of April 23rd, 2021. He will be missed by Daughter Deborah Muhl & partner Rodney Schield. He is also survived by Granddaughter Victoria (tori) Muhl. Sister Linda Wischnewsky & Spouse Ronald Wischnewsky, their children and spouses, Gina & Robert Villa, Brian & Shantelle Wischnewsky and Heather & Larry Miller, and wonderful great-nephews and nieces. He is joining his Wife Virginia Hoepfl, Son Dominic Hoepfl and Grandson Colin Muhl in the graces of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Eugene was born February 22, 1940 to Adolf A Hoepfl and Lillie Annie Morsaik. Born into a hard working family during uncertain times and he grew with the family business helping as needed before age 7 and driving a Commercial wrecker in a less hectic Houston at age 14, before becoming a professional mechanic and businessman. As Part of the First graduating Class of St. Pius he was an avid participant in church activities as well as in most sports available at the time, football, baseball, track and basketball. He met a wonderful girl he made his wife for 56 years until her Death in March 2019. Virginia Theresa Bench was his partner in life and business, joining and competing with him in outdoor activities as well. During his time at Adolf Hoepfl and Son Garage he had some customers coming to shop for three or more generations for trusted auto repair. He was wonderful man who postponed continuing to travel to take care of his wife during over a decade of illness as it was the right thing to do and that she was his world. He will be missed greatly by many. Gene was known to all as a kind man with great values.

"Mr. Eugene" as I always called him was truly wonderful friend to me and my family. Growing up with Dominic and Deborah, going to HiLow fishing and or going swimming, paying football, or going hunting , I/we were always welcome and treated like family. He will truly be missed by all that knew him. I was an honor and privilege to know him, "Mrs. Virginia", Dominic and Deborah . Rest in Peace Mr. Eugene until we meet again.

Eugene Hoepfl was a proud member of the St. Pius X High School Class of 1959. He was a member of the very first football team at SPX High School. He remained a proud Panther all of his life. He and Virginia never missed a class reunion and always attended the Pasta Thursday mini reunions held at Whitney Hall. We loved seeing both of them. Although already in ill health, Eugene attended the 60th Class Reunion of the Class of '59 two years ago. We were so happy to see him! Eugene, thank you, thank you for your life -long friendship, a friendship that spanned over 60yrs. You will be dearly missed. God Bless you and your family .

Eugene was a wonderful man. He was a huge part of our lives, especially Michael. Eugene watched Michael grow up and taught him many valuable life lessons (hunting, mechanical, friendship and loyalty and so more much). I (Margarette) was blessed to meet Eugene in 1979 (42 years ago) and in that time, I enjoyed each and every time we were together hunting, fishing, just hanging out or going to dinner. Leona will not be the same without your happy presence, but knowing that you will be there in spirit gives us comfort and peace. Rest in peace Eugene. We love you and will miss you. God Bless the family during this time of sorrow.

May the peace of the Lord be with you, my dear brother Eugene. I remember your love of football. Dad, mother and I never missed a game when you played at
St. Pius X High School. I also remember that you enjoyed hanging out with all your school friends. Our family Christmases every year were something special; we always enjoyed watching Deborah, Dominic, Gina, Brian, & Heather open their gifts. I know that you , Eugene, will be missed. Deborah, blessings to you for all that you did for your dad. Sympathy and prayers to the Hoepfl’s, the Muhl’s and the Wischnewsky’s.
Rest In Peace , My Brother, Eugene.
