Eugene was raised in second ward and Magnolia Park where he enjoyed playing baseball with his friends. He went to Dezavala Elementary, and Edison Middle School. He was honorably discharged from the Armed Forces of the United States of America on July 19, 1959. Eugene worked as a maintenance man for the City of Deer park for 35 years. He loved to collect coins, play pool, watch the Houston Astros, and spend time with his family.
Eugene is preceded in death by his parents Epifania and Juan Martinez and his siblings. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Beatriz Martinez, his son Eugene Martinez Jr. daughter in law Juanita Martinez, grandchildren Denise A. Martinez, Eugene Enrique Martinez, and great grandchild Aaliyah Jay Espinoza.
