Eugenio A. Vela ,Sr., 72, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Cornerstone Hospital in Houston, Texas. He was born June 2, 1941 in Matamoros, Tamaulipas to Roman Vela and Aurora Cardenas Vela. He is survived by his loving wife Maria Magdalena Vela, daughters, Maria M. Boulouf and her husband Enrique, Edna P. Coleman and her husband Earl, two sons, Eugenio A. Vela Jr. and his wife Ingrid and Julio C. Vela and his wife Karla. Mr. Vela is also survived by his sister, Petra Lopez, brothers, Roman Vela and Porfirio Vela, and ten grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 21, 2014 from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at St. Benedict's Catholic Church, 4025 Grapevine St. Houston, Texas 77045. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at St. Benedict's Catholic Church from 12 noon to 1:00 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Benedict's Catholic Church with interment to follow at Houston Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
