Eustolio Ortiz, 85, of Houston, Texas, passed away on September 28, 2026. Born on November 9, 1940, in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, Eustolio carried through life a steady seriousness of purpose, matched with a genuine kindness that was felt most clearly by those who relied on him and loved him.
From his earliest days, he was shaped by the example and care of his parents, Geronimo and Romana. The values rooted in those beginnings stayed with him, evident in the responsible, dependable way he approached life and family.
Eustolio was hard-working in the truest sense—consistent, committed, and proud to provide. He dedicated 30 years of service to Fiesta before retiring, a long and faithful career that reflected his reliability and the quiet strength with which he met each day. Yet retirement did not change his rhythm. Work remained his favorite pastime, and he always found another project calling for his hands and attention.
He shared 60 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Reyna Ortiz, a partnership marked by loyalty, devotion, and perseverance. He also found deep joy in being outdoors, especially in the simple satisfaction of gardening. Above all, he loved being a grandfather—treasuring time with his grandchildren and embracing that role with steady presence and care.
Eustolio was preceded in death by his parents, Geronimo and Romana Ortiz; his brother, Esteban Ortiz; his sisters, Alicia Alvarez and Eloisa Ortiz; and his daughter, Oralia Ortiz.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Reyna Ortiz; his children, Jose Ortiz and Esperanza Ortiz; his sisters, Margarita Meza and Maria Meza; his grandchildren, Nataly, Victoria, Mario, Elizabeth, and Camila; and his great grandchildren, Ariana, Anthony, Ariella, and Zaila.
