She is survived by George Dillard, Georgia Allen, Eva Jo Phillips, Rebecca Anderson, and Frances Wagenschutz, and goes to join Buster Dillard, Benjamin Ray Dillard, Lloyd Kilsby, and Helen Lira. She married Buck Dillard and had Buster Jerome, Benjamin Ray, Georgia Mae, and George Edward. Buck died by fire when George was a baby. Then she married Chester Raymond Kilsby who had a son and daughter of his own, Lloyd and Helen Louise. Eva and Chester then had three more daughters, Eva Jo, Rebecca and Frances. She was blessed with 21 grandchildren, over 30 great grandchildren, over 5 great grandchildren & 1 grand pup.
Eva cared for her daddy, Granddaddy Reynolds, who lived with her and her family the last years of his life. She cared for her mother Josephine "MaMaw" the last decades of her life and worked closely with her in the church "Prayer House of the Lord Jesus Christ". She opened her home and hosted the missionaries "brother and sister Joseph" and their children who traveled the world spreading the WORD OF GOD and doing His work.
Eva worked hard to support her children in her early years by selling insurance door to door for 10 cents a week. She also sold Avon Door to door. Then in the later years she worked in housekeeping Houston Northwest Medical Center where she was so loved that once in the Labor and Delivery Unit where she worked, the doctor helped mop the floor while visiting with her. Eva had a way about her that made it feel like a blessing to be in the room with her.
While she was a strong loving mother, she was extraordinarily so with her grandchildren. She was their babysitter for them and later babysat their children. If they needed or wanted something they could go to Granny's doorstep and she would always make it better. She made doilies, afgans, bedspreads, and table cloths for her many family members. She was the happiest when she could get outside and get her hands in the dirt where she would commune with the Lord and help something beautiful grow. But above her loving care and support she always set the example and taught us to love the Lord and lean on Him, because He loves us and will never leave us.
John 3:16, John 8:12, John 10:28, Matthew 11:28, Deuteronomy 31:8, 1 John 4:7
Eva moved to Imperial Oaks in June of 2006 to live with her daughter Frances, where she made friends with neighbors. One of which was Rose Labeda who welcomed her like a mother and brought her to Sojourn Baptist where she was accepted as family and became a member. She was also a member on the Ladies Auxiliary at the V.F.W.
She lived her last days at Park Manor The Woodlands where she made many friends with staff and residents. She found another wonderful friend in Stan Johnson who faithfully visited and ministered to Eva and the other residents at Park Manor. She was very happy with all her new friends at the church and was passionate about crocheting blankets for babies, booties, hats and shawls for others. She also made baby afgans for many of Rebecca and Frances' co-workers babies.
