Eva Mae (Russell) La Fleur, 95, a longtime resident of Houston, died Friday, September 9, 2011. Eva was born in Oakdale Allen Parish, Louisiana on August 27th, 1916 to William Henry Russell and Elizabeth “Eliza” Wagner. She married Clovis “Clo” La Fleur on November 16, 1935 in Oakdale, Louisiana, this union lasting 69 years. She was a HISD School Secretary at Almeda and Peterson Elementary Schools from 1950 to 1970. After retirement from HISD, Eva and Clo were the owners and operators of little Elves Daycare Center until 1995, located in the Almeda Area of Houston. She is survived by a son, Clovis La Fleur of Fredericksburg, Texas and Daughter, Patricia Jennings of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to visitation with the family from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 13, 2011, in the Memorial Mission Mausoleum Chapel at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, followed by funeral services at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Gene Vickrey officiating. Entombment will follow in Memorial Mission Mausoleum.
