Evanell Marie Marrs Koteras was born in Roaring Springs, Texas on December 9, 1928 into a family of migrant workers. Eventually, they settled in Houston where she met her one true love, Raymond Koteras. They were married on February 7, 1947 and shared a love and a life for 49 years. As they raised four sons, in between coaching little league and sewing countless quilts, Evanell set about making their house into a home where weekly Bar-B-Ques, taco parties and general get-togethers were the norm. Every visitor became a friend and was treated like one of her own. Her love of family was only matched by their love for her. She often traveled to California and Arkansas to spend time with her long-distance children and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Raymond and son Kim. Left to cherish her memories are sons and daughters-in-law Michael and Pam Koteras of Austin, Texas, Joe and Tricia Koteras of Rossmoor, California and Daniel and Kerri Koteras of Little Rock, Arkansas. She also leaves eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
