Evelyn Marie Ellis

Evelyn Marie Patton- Ellis was born December 1, 1930 to the late Esther Elizabeth Moon and Ike Patton, she was the first of six children. Evelyn affectionately called “Ree’ confessed a hope in Christ at an early age. She was an active member at Fallbrook Church under the leadership of Pastor Michael Pender until her health would no longer permit. She joined the quilting group at Fallbrook, loved doing ceramics, sewing, cooking, singing, and her plants. She loved her country roots and frequently enjoyed road trips. She never met a stranger that wasn’t soon invited to dinner and instantly became an adopted family member.

Evelyn graduated Macedonia High School, in Jefferson, Texas; shortly thereafter she met and married the late Lennie James Ellis of Houston, Texas, and to this union 5 daughters were born.

She leaves a sister Bessie Watkins (Arthur), and brother James Patton (Sandra), to cherish her memory; 4 daughters, Cynthia Ellis Barrett, Vanessa Ellis, Sheila Ellis, all of Houston TX and Terry Ellis of Valencia California, grandson, Rashidi Barrett of Austin TX, 3 great grandchildren, Nicole Ellis, Marcus Green and Kelsey Parker; 1 great-great grandchild Denise, of Houston TX and many loving family members and friends. Both parents, 3 brothers 1 daughter (Paula), and 1 granddaughter (Shannon), preceded her in death. Evelyn was loved by so many and will be greatly missed.
