Evelyn P. Els

Evelyn, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, was born in Runge, Texas on December 7, 1919, to John and Johanna Pieper.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 43 years, Ewald W. Els; brothers Willie, Edwin, Herbert , and sister Leona Leister.

Evelyn is survived by daughter, Barbara Schneider, husband Harold, and grandson Rhett. Rhett’s wife Heather Ann, step-great granddaughters, Ava and Madeleine Ahmadi and great grandson Aaron James Schneider all of Spring. Her son Carlton, wife Martha, granddaughters Kimberly LeBlanc, husband Connecticut, great granddaughter Arianna of Pearland, Melissa Gracia, husband Adan of Houston. Brother-in-law Roy Els, wife Lynette. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Evelyn and her family moved to Houston in 1952. She retired from Foley’s in 1985. She enjoyed traveling, bowling and volunteer work for 17 years. She was an active member at Advent Lutheran Church in Houston.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on March 2nd, at Pat H. Foley Funeral Home 1200 West 34th Street. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 3rd at 3:00 p.m. at Advent Lutheran Church, 5820 Pinemont, Houston, Texas 77092. Pastor Larry Beck officiating. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery, 13401 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
