Evelyn Delores Sudds-Williams Jefferson was born August 12th 1932, to the late Raymond and Ruby Sudds. She was lovingly raised by Tom and Elizabeth Jones in Elizabeth Louisiana, where she also completed her education. Evelyn often cherished her memories of her first-grade teacher, Ms. Mitchell.
In 1947, Evelyn married Bonnie WIlliams, and together they shared 32 years of marriage. Their union was blessed with five children:
Dorothy Ann Williams (affectionately known as "T-Dot," deceased);
Bonnie Williams Jr. (spouse Jean Carolyn Williams) Houston, TX;
Dennis Ray Williams (known as "SugarBear", deceased);
Brenda Gail Cannon, Raleigh, NC,
Vernita Williams Mckay Sneed (spouse: James DeWayne Sneed) San Antonio, TX
Evelyn dedicated 25 years of service to Central State Hospital in Pineville, Louisiana, where she was a valued member of the staff.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Bonnie Williams Sr, her second husband Harold D. Jefferson; her daughter Dorothy Ann Williams, and her son, Dennis Ray Williams.
Evelyn's memory will be forever cherished by her loving children;
Bonnie Williams Jr. and his wife, Jean Carolyn Williams, who loving cared for Evelyn for 14 years, Brenda Gail Cannon, Raleigh, NC, Vernita Sneed and her husband, James DeWayne Sneed.
Evelyn is also survived by nine grandchildren:
Gregory D. Williams, Verónica D. Williams-Thomas, Thomasa V. McKay-Brown, Mose B. Cannon II, Marquita D. Cannon, Zachary R. Adams, Dennis Ray Fisher, and Daniel Fisher.
Twelve Great-Grandchildren:
Mackayla C. Brown, Maya C. Brown, Keandra A. Brown, Deandrea R. Brown, Mose B. Cannon III, Natalia Le'Shai King, Kiara E. Williams, Troy Thomas Jr, Vida Fisher, Maliana Fisher, Daneli Fisher, McKenzie Fisher.
Evelyn's legacy is one of love and resilience. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
