Evelyn Teresa Portillo

Evelyn Teresa Portillo went to be with the Lord on February 28, 2022. She was born on April 13, 1969, in San Miguel, El Salvador to her mother Teresa Salgado. She is survived by 6 children Diana Salgado, Evelin Salgado, Catherine Portillo, Felix Portillo, Naomi Portillo, and Tracy Portillo. 14 Grandchildren; Saleen, Eleanor, Mark Jr, Athena, Artemis, Cataleena, Ophelia, Ray, Emily, Ryu, Mark, D’lylah, Daisy, Everly, and great-grandchild Serenity. 7 brothers and sisters; Mauricio, Jaime, Claudia, Orquidia, Irma, Rocio, and Yasmin, and a host of nieces and nephews.

She enjoyed working in the embroidery department at Rockpoint Apparel. She loved woodworking, painting and crafting, knitting and crocheting. She could get down on the dance floor as will as get down on some great home cooking, but her greatest joy was being a loving mother and grandmother.

The family would like to thank those who have been a part of Evelyn’s journey through life. We will receive friends and family for visitation Friday, March 11, 2022, from 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm in the family chapel at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039.
