Evie was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on May 26, 1933 to Nick and Kaliopi Steles. It was in Shreveport that she met the love of her life, Steve Elenniss. They were married in 1956 and went on to have two children, Steve and Stephanie. Evie and Steve moved to Cleveland, Ohio and eventually settled in Houston, Texas. Evie was passionate about her Greek heritage, church, customs, family, and food. She was an active participant in the Greek community wherever she lived. Evie loved being a Yiayia, throwing parties, traveling to Galveston, following her stocks, and taking the perfect picture.
Evie is survived by her brother, Steve Steles of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, her son, Steve Elenniss, of Cedar Park, Texas, and her daughter, Stephanie Hayes, of Rockledge, Florida and their families. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, whom she loved like her own children, and many adoring grandchildren who will miss their Yiayia dearly.
