

Our beloved mother Fannie Lee Dorsey Harper, 93 years of age transitioned on July 23, 2024 to be with her heavenly love ones.
Fannie was born on April 9, 1931 in Mansfield, LA to the late David and Lee Bell Dorsey where she grew up. She later moved to Shreveport, LA where she lived the majority of her life. She also spent some years in Denver, CO before moving to Rosenberg, TX where she become one of God’s angels.
Fannie Lee Harper lived a great life as a Christian, wife, mother, friend, and a nurse. She was very passionate about caring for people working as an LPN at several hospitals, nursing homes and then retiring from the V.A. Medical Center in Shreveport, LA.
Fannie was baptized at an early age, later joining Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church in Shreveport, LA and later becoming a member of Mount Paran Missionary Baptist Church in Shreveport, LA. She devoted her time to singing in the choir, deaconess board, usher board and whatever she needed to do.
Fannie is preceded in death by nine siblings, two sons and two grandchildren. She is survived by four children; Helen Jefferson-Jones, daughter, ( Houston, TX); Larry Donnell Harper, son,( Rosenberg, TX); Reginald Marce and Sharon Christor, son and daughter-in-law, ( Roy, Washington); Kenneth Wayne and Gwen Harper, son and daughter-in-law, ( Oklahoma). Nineteen grandchildren, forty-eight great grandchildren and five great, great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews. She will be missed dearly by all her family, friends, neighbors, Christian family and Patricia Prodhumme, her caretaker that took great care of her the last two years of her life.
Funeral service will be Friday, August 2, 2024 at 12-1:00 pm at Garden Oaks Funeral Home, 1330 Bellaire Blvd, Houston, TX 77083 with visitation from 10:00 am till 12:00 pm. Burial site will be at Paradise Cemetery South, 2237 Cullen Blvd, Pearland, TX 77581.
