

Fanny Archila was born on August 9th, 1947 to her parents Lazaro Antonio Leon and Maria de Jesus Russi in Arabia, Risaralda, Colombia. She peacefully passed away at the age of 73 in Houston, TX on December 17, 2020.
Fanny joined the Bethlemites sister’s congregation, at the age of 15, where she served and dedicated her life to the service of the church and its people for over 10 years. Soon after leaving the congregation, Fanny enrolled in college where she completed 2 years of college credits geared towards a career in biology and teaching. During the early years of her marriage Fanny taught elementary school to help her spouse to complete his engineering degree and to help support her loving family.
Fanny is survived by her spouse (Henry Archila) of 41 years, her three children, (Julio Cesar Archila, Iliana Marcela Archila and Maria del Pilar Archila), and six grandchildren, (Julio Cesar Archila II, John Paul Archila, Oliver Patten, Catalina Patten, Nicolas Suerte and Camilo Suerte). She is also survived by four siblings ( Aracely Gaviria, Luz Marina Naranjo, Rubi Moreno and Romulo Leon).
Fanny brought joy, comfort and happiness to many including her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed chatting with her siblings and friends over the phone for long hrs. a day about just anything remembering old silly moments with a good snack and coffee in hand. She also enjoyed attending Sunday mass regularly together with her husband to pray for her family and friends.
Family, friends and others whose lives Fanny touched are invited to Brookside Funeral Homes at Cypress Creek, 9149 Hwy 6 North, Houston TX 77095 on Tuesday December 22nd from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. for visitation, The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 6646 Addicks Satsuma Rd, Houston Tx 77084 on Wednesday December 23rd, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.
