Felipa Caballero Macias

Felipa Caballero Macias, 88 of Houston, Texas was born May 26, 1934 in Edna, Texas to Banifisio and Florencia (Morales) Flores and passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Friday, April 28, 2023.

She enjoyed being with her family every chance she got, going to her church St. Alphonsus Catholic Church; playing Mexican bingo; going to her favorite place to eat, Golden Corral; listening to music and dancing; or going to the casino’s. She just enjoyed being with people.

Felipa is survived by her partner in life, Leopoldo Gomez; children, Panfilo Caballero, Jr.; Raymond Caballero and wife, Maria; Yolanda Patino and husband, Richard; Nancy Estrada; Josephine Saenz and husband, Ralph; and Leo Thomas and wife, Diane Gomez along with numerous grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; she is also survived by sisters Bacillia Sandoval; Eva Lara and Virginia Flores and many other extended family members.

She is preceded in death by her sons, Steve Caballero and Thomas Caballero; daughter, Estella Vega and Elisa Caballero; and granddaughter, Cecelia Ann Martinez and her siblings, Alejandra Flores, Antonia Rangel, Isabel Ramirez, Ofelia Figueroa, Nicholas Flores, Guadalupe Flores, Isabel Flores and Victor Flores.

Funeral services will be held 11:30am, Thursday, May 4, 2023 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church (9217 E. Avenue L, Houston, Texas 77012) with burial following at Forest Park Lawndale. Visitation will be held Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 pm until 10:00pm with a rosary at 7:00pm.

Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Caballero, Jr., Justin Garcia, Leo Gomez, Juan Rivaz, Daniel Caballero and Raymond Caballero, Jr. with Thomas Caballero, Eli Jacob Caballero, Jose Garcia, Roland Caballero, Daniel Torres, Raul Torres and Pete Garcia serving as honorary pallbearers.
