Fernando was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Elena Salazar, and a proud father to his three children, Frederick, Emily, and Edwin. He was also a loving father-in-law to Jane Salazar and Stephen Cherry, whom he welcomed as family with open arms. He was a cherished grandfather to Janelle Nacpil, Madison Salazar, Dylan Salazar, Wesley Cherry, and Amelie Cherry, each of whom brought him immense joy and pride.
By profession, Fernando was an engineer, a career that reflected his sharp mind, strong work ethic, and natural gift for problem-solving. His talents extended far beyond his profession—he was always willing to lend a helping hand, often working on the cars of friends, neighbors, and church members. Serving others came naturally to him, and his generosity left a lasting impact on his community.
Fernando embraced life with enthusiasm and joy. He loved fishing, tennis, dancing, singing, and playing the guitar. Music held a special place in his heart, and he was a devoted member of the Notre Dame Church choir for many years. Whether singing in church or playing the guitar at home, his music brought comfort, happiness, and togetherness to those around him.
An avid traveler, Fernando explored the world with curiosity and gratitude, truly savoring the many experiences life had to offer. Above all, he will be remembered for his humility, generosity, strong faith, and deep love for his family.
Fernando lived a full and meaningful life—one defined by service, joy, and connection—and his legacy will live on through all who were blessed to know him.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
