Florine Leola Kovar was called to the Lord at the age of 80 on Thursday, October 22, 2015 in Columbus, TX. Florine was born in Round Top , Texas on July 23, 1935 to Herman and Stella Schulze where they lived in Fayetteville, Texas. At the age of 16, she married John Charles Kovar on January 14, 1952 in Plum, Texas. They were married for 40 years and lived in Houston, TX.
Florine was a dedicated housewife & great mother. She loved to cook, read, put puzzles together, play bingo and play slot machines. She sold Avon part time as a housewife. In 1976 she went to work for Spring Branch School District in the cafeteria, which was her passion for cooking. In the summer of 1977, at the age of 42, she learned to drive. She retired May 15, 2000 from the school district after 24 years of service.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Kovar ; parents, Herman & Stella Schulze; brothers, Kervin, Harley & Butch.
Survivors include her 4 children, Linda Romagus & husband Mike of Splendora, Johnny Kovar & wife Thresa of Columbus, Karen Nelius & husband Dennis of Houston, Jerry Kovar & wife Betsy of Bellville. Nine grandchildren, Missy, Mandy, Jaime, Mike, Julie, Jenny, Cody, Katy & Colton. Sixteen great grandchildren & one great great grandson. One brother Norman Schulze and wife Helga of Florida. Numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces & nephews.
