Floyd Irving Shows

Floyd Irving Shows, age 90, of Houston, Texas passed away on September 23, 2022. He was born in Yoakum, Texas on May 11, 1932. Floyd graduated from Galveston Ball High School, attended Victoria College, San Antonio College and the University of Houston. He also attended Texas Chiropractic and The Logan Basic College of Chiropractic.

He married his first love, Barbara Ann Pass, on October 20, 1952. Floyd had a career which included practice as a Chiropractor, followed by over 24 years with Shell Development Company as an Oil Research Technician. He was also an Army Veteran and served our nation during the Korean War.

Floyd had a passion for reading and studying the Bible and biblical history, and spent many hours researching and documenting his family’s genealogy. He is survived by his loving wife Barbara, of almost 70 years; daughter Allison Lipscomb and husband Chuck of Coldspring, Texas, granddaughters Kristen Rodriguez and husband Ruben of Weslaco, Texas, Ashley Lipscomb of Spring, Texas, and Amy Woody and husband Kyle of Prosper, Texas, as well as numerous great-grandchildren. Floyd was one of ten children of Grady Don and Ellen Christina Shows, and is also survived by one brother, Roger Shows and wife Alice, of Texas City, Texas. He is preceded in death by daughter Cynthia Louise Shows, and eight brothers and sisters.

There will be a Celebration of Life service for Floyd Shows at noon on Saturday, October 15,, 2022, at the First Baptist Church of Conroe. Dress is casual.
