

Foy Preston Midkiff, age 80, passed away at home surrounded by family and close friends on June 6, 2022. Foy was born on October 14, 1941, to Frank and Louise Midkiff in Midland, Texas. After growing up at the family ranch in Midkiff, Texas, Foy attended Texas Tech University and served in the Special Forces of the United States Army.
Foy was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. Foy was preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, his “Pooh”, Lynda Ratliff Midkiff. He is survived by his daughters Laura Midkiff and Callie Scott, his grandchildren Jackson Scott, Sophia Scott, and Brynna Barrett, son-in-law Vaughan Scott, his brother Frank Midkiff and wife Sherri, and his brother Charles Midkiff and wife Mary, and many nieces, and nephews.
Foy loved people and was blessed with many incredible friendships throughout his life. He cherished his time with his friends hunting, shooting, and fishing. He enjoyed cooking and grilling for friends and family. His dog, Chester, was his constant and loyal companion.
Visitation will be on Sunday, June 12, 2022, from 4pm -6pm and a funeral service and reception will be held on Monday, June 13 at 10am at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas. Interment will follow at Madisonville City Cemetery in Madisonville, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Foy’s memory to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
