

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Russell S. Jackson, one week before their 63rd wedding anniversary, in 2007.
Frances attended Centerville High School, and graduated from Texas State College for Women (now TWU) in Denton, TX. She married Russell in the Love Field AFB Chapel on June 17, 1944, shortly before he was ordered to report for overseas flight duty.
Frances was a lifelong Methodist, beginning at Centerville Methodist, then for 40 years as an active member at Riverside Methodist in Houston, and most recently First Methodist of Houston. She was a member of the Hayden Terrace Garden Club, a Girl Scout Leader for Troop 688, worked as bookkeeper for the National Homebuilders Association Convention, and with Special Investigative Services.
Her bread pudding was a delicacy to many of her close friends, her “hunchback” costume the talk of the neighborhood on Halloween, and she was the elegant star of her daughter’s annual Oscar night party.
She is survived by her daughter, Dava Jackson McWhorter and husband Mac, and her son, Craig. :Also, grandson Trey McWhorter, wife Sarah, great grandchildren Saylor Grace and Archer IV, and grandson Chris McWhorter, wife Rebekah, great grand-children Brooks Jackson and Elisabeth Katherine.
Visitation will be Friday May 12, 2017 from 7 - 9p at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Frwy, 77079. Funeral service is at 10a Saturday May 13, 2017 at First Methodist Church - Westchase Campus, 3663 Westcenter Dr., 77042. The graveside service will follow at 12:00p at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to First Methodist Church 1320 Main St, 77002.
