Dear Karola and the Ethun family, 
Arch will be missed so much in our family of Rotary and in the family of Veterans.  Arch had such a quiet, kind, yet firm, nature, and was wonderful with all walks of people.  Arch I worked together on my first Rotary immunization project some 20+ years ago.....now, Rotary is involved with a local consortium of health care providers dedicated to immunizing each and every child in the Houston area.....from small acorns do large oaks grow, and we have lost one of our very tall timbers.

    My prayers and thoughts are with you. Rick and I thought a lot of Archie and I grew to love him for the truly good person he was. It was a pleasure knowing him and I wished we had stayed more in touch this past year.

Arch, I will miss you.  You were a great friend and mentor.  I will always have your spirit in my memories of our long conversations.  You were a very wise man.  My thought and prayers are with your family.  We will see each other again one day and have many more conversations.  Rest in Peace my friend.

To all of the Ethun family and Col. Ethun's devoted friends - so few of us know what to say, but, I do know one thing - our Father in Heaven has welcomed His Prince into his Kingdom.

My sincere condolences to the Ethun family and friends.  Arch was one of the first VAVS NAC members I met when I joined the VAVS family in 2008.  He and Bill Bryce were so kind and welcoming! I am proud to have known you over the past 30, plus years. I have known you both as a fellow rotarian and a good friend. Thank you also, for serving our country, during those uncertain times. I will miss you.

Arch was an important member of the Precinct 4 Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association. Until his health failed, he was always part of our activities. His wit was sharp and dry. He made our discussions lively and shared many laughs and smiles.

Despite his rank, Arch was never full of himself. However, as we made reminder calls for Judge Adams' court, his voice was firm when a miscreant tried to talk back to him. 

Arch and his buddy, Marvin Stearns, were a pair at our activities, and we rarely saw one without the other. 

We were always proud of Arch's activities with his fellow veterans, and he gave selflessly to them. 

The world has lost a precious person and he'll be sorely missed.
