

Francis Dale Hokanson, 87, passed away on May 18, 2015 in Cypress, Texas. He was born on July 21, 1927 in the Village of Wheaton, Minnesota, to parents, Oscar and Esther (Lindbloom) Hokenson. He graduated high school in 1944 and entered the United States Navy in 1945. He proudly served his country until his discharge in 1949. He then went to work at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration, attending the University of Corpus Christi, Delmar College, and the University of Houston, all located in Texas. Mr. Hokanson furthered his education and went on to earn his Master’s Degree and moved up from climbing telephone poles and installation, to a management position. He retired from Southwestern Bell on July 22, 1982. On May 27, 1955, he married Freddye Miller in Calvary Baptist Church in Bay City, Texas. His place of worship was Sisseton Alliance Church in Sisseton, South Dakota and he was also a member of the Gideons.
Mr. Hokanson is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Esther Hokenson; wife, Freddye Hokanson; brother, Wayne Hokenson; brother and sister-in-law, Spen and Lola Hokenson; and sister, Gloria Hallinan.
He is survived by his sons, Mark and Stephen Hokanson; daughters, Rachael Meier and Rebecca Davis; granddaughters, Marissa Meier and Katrina Bruder; grandson, Johnny Bruder; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers: Stephen Hokanson, Ed Hokenson, Michael Meier, Jimmy Davis, Daniel Feigelson, and David Hokenson.
Visitation will be held from 3-5pm, Monday, May 25, 2015 at Pat H. Foley & Company Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 12pm, Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Cedarvale Cemetery, located off Golden Avenue in Bay City, Texas.
