Frankie Leong, 69, passed peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, August 20, 2016 in Houston, Texas. He was the second child and eldest son of Bor Gim Leong and Dong Soo Leong. He was predeceased by his parents and two sisters.
Frankie was born on a U.S. military base in Shanghai, China on November 14, 1946. He spoke his parents’ native Chinese dialect, Hoisan¬-wa, and learned enough Spanish that one of his friends said, “He spoke so much Spanish when I first met him that I thought he was Spanish.”
Frankie was good-natured and had excellent social skills. He loved playing Bingo and listening to music. Not many years ago, the Beatles’ “Twist & Shout” had him jumping up from his wheelchair to swing to the music! And he enjoyed his snacks. Whenever his friend, Marilyn, visited he would ask if she brought cheese balls and Dr. Pepper.
Frankie leaves behind seven siblings, twelve nieces and nephews and two grandnephews. Siblings: James Leong and wife, Charlotte; Margaret Woo and husband, Walter; Stanley Leong and wife, Audrey; Dorothy Soo Leong Liu and
