Frank was born March 29th, 1922, in Birmingham, Alabama to Benjamin and Alice Levy. He had an older sister, Harriet. Frank and the family moved to Houston, Texas and he attended San Jacinto High School. Frank initially worked on a merchant marine vessel but with the start of WWII, he joined the Airforce. Frank was stationed in Seattle, WA, and helped assemble the B-17s. After the war, he returned to Houston, and worked in various sales positions in several industries. He sold men’s suits at Battlestein’s, owned Kashway Food store, later sold advertising, and finally made a career selling commercial tires.
Frank married Harriett Rosenthal, and together they started a family. They raised two children, Jerry M. Levy and Lori L. Boin. Frank and Harriett divorced after 24 years of marriage. Several years later, Frank met and married Helen B. Cohen. They looked forward to their worldly cruises during their 45 year marriage.
When Frank retired, he and Helen moved to Aventura, Florida. They enjoyed being with other retirees in the mild climate. Shortly after Helen’s passing, Frank’s children relocated him to an independent living facility in Houston.
Frank was able to enjoy watching his grandchildren, Ryan Levy, Marisa Levy, Joshua Boin and Warner Boin Dowlearn, grow into adults. He knew all their names, and always asked how they were doing. Frank was fortunate enough to meet his great-grandchildren.
Few people in this world are able to experience as many changes as Frank witnessed in a lifetime that spanned more than a century.
Thank you to the staff at Treemont assisted living. He always loved playing bingo there.
May Frank’s Memory be a blessing.
