I first met Frank in the very early 1980s when we rode night shift in East Houston. Night shift along Mesa Dr. and Tidwell, Laura Koppe etc could be painfully boring or quite exhilarating. You never knew what would happen until it was over. We went our separate ways over time he to Canine and I eventually to helicopters. We would run into each other from time to time and it was always as if it was just the other day rather than months or years. Frank was a good friend and an excellent Canine handler. Whether I was following him through the woods on foot or providing oversight from above, Frank always had it under control. More often than not he caught his suspect. My deep sympathy to his friends and family.

It has been truly an honor to be a friend of Frank "The Godfather" Ruffino for so many years. He was a genuine person who was always a pleasure to visit and talk with. We spent many hours talking, laughing and joking! He became part of my family and never failed to tell me to say hello to my wife Kim and kiss the babies for him. We loved him like a Brother and will miss him greatly. I will look forward to seeing him in Heaven one day! May God be with his family.

Rest in Peace Brother Frank. I will always have great memories of Class # 78 and then during our tenure together over the following 35 plus years here at HPD. You were always so kind and professional when we would cross paths during our career. We'll take it from here brother and you rest well. We will see you again some day brother! Frank will be truly missed! He was always so kind and helpful. He and his K-9 partner made many of my scenes in 11 District. May he rest in peace.

It was always great to see Frank pull up to your scene with his K-9 partner. If a suspect was still in the building Frank was going to find him. It sure beat having to search the big warehouses with nothing but a flashlight. He was always kind and helpful. May he rest in peace.

Steve enjoyed his time working with you and your friendship. Karen loved to joke with 'Frankie' and sometimes got the last word! We will miss you, brother, and will cherish your friendship, until we meet again.

Love always,
