

Frank Kai-Kwong Toy, 89, passed away on May 18, 2015. He was born in Chicago on October 21, 1925 to Charles and Chin Shee Toy. He completed high school at Chicago’s Tilden Technical with a diploma in Radio and Radar Mechanics.
He entered the U.S. Army Air Force in 1944 and was stationed at several bases in the continental USA, where he earned citations for radio and aircraft training. He was ready to leave for Saipan when World War II ended. Later he served in the Air Force Reserve and the U.S. Coast Guard.
In 1947, Frank moved to Houston where he met his wife Maria Concepcion de Loji (Connie). They were married on November 6, 1955 in Monterrey, Mexico, her hometown. They settled in Houston, where he worked at his parent’s grocery store business, Sing-On Supermarket. After gaining experience, Frank opened his own grocery store. He retired after 30 years in the business.
In 1998, Connie and Frank moved to Sugar Land. He enjoyed being around people and his hobbies included landscaping, gardening, home improvements and photography, which was his favorite past time. He was a member of the Mosaic Community Convenant Church.
Frank is survived by his wife Connie Toy, children: Patricia (John) Tseo, Lydia (Jerry) Ong, Rene (Karen) Toy, and Connie (Tom) Toy- Ng. Grandchildren: Christina (Alex) Kuo, Alexander (My) Tseo, Amanda and Julia Ong; Elliott, Wesley, and Jaeden Toy; and Winston Ng. Great grandchildren: Cameron and Hannah Kuo; and Logan Tseo.
