Frankie Michael Orsak 84, passed away on October 3, 2022 with his family by his side. Frankie was born to Frank J. and Cecelia Valchar Orsak on November 26, 1937 on their family farm in Hallettsville, Texas.
Frankie graduated from Hallettsville High School in 1957 and then proudly served his country in the army from 1958-1960 at the rank of corporal. During which time he earned the Good Conduct medal, and for Marksmanship and Sharpshooting. It did not seem long after his return home, he fell in love and married the love of his life, Dorothy Mae Dierschke. They were married on November 4, 1961 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Moulton. They were happily married for (one month shy of) 61 years.
Frankie and Dorothy moved to Alief, Texas in 1970 when they sold their house for the expansion of the Galleria area in Houston. They raised three wonderful children in Alief and then moved to their farm in Wallis in 1995.
He and Dorothy were active members of the Guardian Angel Catholic Church. He enjoyed serving in the Knights of Columbus and was recognized at the rank of 4th Degree with three of those years faithful Navigator. He enjoyed working the fish fries and serving other meals with his friends. Additionally, he was an active member of the American Legion Post 200.
He was a proud man but very humble. He never met a stranger and made whomever he talked to feel comfortable, like they had known him forever.
Frankie was an avid fisherman, he enjoyed hunting and was a teller of tall tales. It is a well known fact that he inherited that trait from his mother. He and Dorothy have been known to cut a rug down at the KC Hall with friends on a Saturday night. He enjoyed collecting coins, working his cattle, riding his tractor, working their garden, barbecuing and spending time with his family.
His family gave him great joy and he loved their visits. The grandchildren and great grandchildren enjoyed fishing and feeding the cows with Grandpa and Grandma. And each of his cows had a name and were treated like pets.
He worked at Wyatt’s Industries in Houston for 26 1/2 years with the last 15 of those years as foreman. He then worked as a mechanic at River Oaks Country Club for 17 years until his retirement.
Frankie was preceded in death by his parents and his brother George Orsak. He is survived by his loving wife Dorothy; daughters Sharon and her husband Dr. David Blackwood of Carbon, Texas; Susan and her husband Mike McKibben of Aquilla, Texas; and son Daryl Orsak and his wife Marla of Cypress. Other survivors include the grandchildren Blake and Fatima Orsak, Karah Orsak, Brandi McKibben, Jani Clinard, Cameron and Jessica Harrold, Becca and JR Baker, Maddy McKibben, Mikey McKibben and great grandchildren Camille Orsak, Trinity Clinard, Wyatt Clinard, Bronson Clinard, Hagan Landrum, Jaxon Landrum, Layla McKibben, Jayce McKibben, Tanner Harrold, Canaan Harrold, Reagan Harrold and Ryleigh Baker.
