Fred was born and started his journey in life in Houston on the 20th June 1933, grew up in the Southside/West University area, attended Lamar High School, and graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with degrees in engineering and applied math. He worked for Boeing Aircraft Company, Univac, and with NASA on the Apollo moon project. He later graduated from law school and practiced law. Fred also enjoyed volunteering at KHCB Christian radio.
Fred was loved very much by his family and friends. We will cherish the gifts of all the memories he gave us.
Preceded in death by his father Fred J Marett Jr, mother Vera Elizabeth Guest Marett, and sons Fred James Marett IV and Ronald Allen Marett.
Surviving relatives are two brothers, and children Bryan Marett, Sharon Marett Strobel and Joel Dean Marett, grandchildren Ronald Charles Marett, Matthew Marett, Willard Marett, Natalie Strobel, Jane Strobel, Ryan Strobel, Sarah Strobel, Lisa Strobel, Jesse Marett and Travis Marett, and numerous nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and great nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the loving and dedicated care givers who devoted themselves to Fred for many years.
The family will gather for a private visitation and a private interment at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston.
