He was born in Houston, TX on August 13, 1937 to Edward C. Blackmon and Myrtle Helene Blackmon.
Frederick Charles Blackmon worked as an electrician and was a fifty year member of IBEW L.U. 716.
He worked at Fisk Electrical Company for thirty-five years before retiring, and he worked for various other electrical contractors throughout his career.
Fred had a passion for the outdoors and especially hunting. Fred spent his spare time working and hunting on his ranch properties in the Texas Hill Country. This is where he also raised cattle, hogs and other wildlife species.
After retiring from the electrical trade in 2011, he was then able to fulfill his other passion of tinkering around with and restoring old guns.
He is preceded in death by his father; Edward C. Blackmon, Mother; Myrtle Helene Blackmon and Brother; Thomas E. Blackmon.
He is survived by his sons; Fred C. Blackmon Jr. and (wife) Marylynn Blackmon of Katy, TX, Kirk E. Blackmon of Katy, TX, Sisters; Linda Hoffmann and Barbara Williams, Grandchild; Lisa E. Hammack and (husband) Kelly Hammack, Great-Grandchildren; Kelly, Kaleb and Kali Hammack, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
