Freida is survived by her sons, Aurthur (Bubba) Townsend and his wife Robin, Mitchell Ray Townsend and his wife Rowena, Dennis Reeves Townsend and his wife Vena, her sister Billie Faye Bolin, and a multitude of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Carl Reeves Townsend, and her daughter, Debbie Mae Goza.
She was born to Carl Lefettye Gower and Vera Mae Tyler Acock on July 20, 1936. She worked at Weingarten's as a cashier for many years. Freida loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for her family. Neighborhood children would gather around the kitchen table for after-school cookies and loved listening to her stories.
Freida was a very loving and caring mom and grandma. One of her favorite things to do was getting out of the house to eat with her family, especially when they had breakfast for lunch so she could have her favorite meal, pancakes, bacon and eggs. She loved having everyone over for holidays, birthdays, and just because. She is going to be missed tremendously.
A visitation for Freida will be held Friday, October 1, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. A funeral service will occur Friday, October 1, 2021 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. A graveside service will occur Friday, October 1, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060.
