Gail Connard Melton, Jr.,92, Huntsville, Texas, entered eternal rest on September 13, 2026. He was born in Lamar County, Beards Town, Texas on September 26, 1933 to Gail C. Melton and Ruby Jewell Melton. Gail attended Edison high school, and met Barbara Harrison in Houston Texas. Gail and Barbara married on September 22, 1950. They were both 16 years of age and absolutely devoted to one another.
During his working,career Gail was an entrepreneur. He worked at Signal Oil when he and Barbara first married, but it wasn't long before he and his brothers, Norris and GA, began operating Texaco stations. He was also a builder and built many car washes and storages.
Gail was a devoted husband and father. He served for many years as a co-youth director at Stonewall Pentecostal Church in Houston, Texas. During those years while still raising children, the family took many vacations and made many memories that will never be forgotten. He was an avid golfer and upon semi retirement move from Houston to Westwood Shores in Trinity, Texas to play Many, rounds of golf with Barbara and friends.
Gail is preceded in death by his precious wife, Barbara; his parents, Gail and Jewell Melton; and his five siblings.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Connie Fisher, Rhonda Malley and husband, Lonnie, Connard Melton and wife Sandy; nine grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, one great, great grandchild, and one on the way as well as two sister-in-law's, Shirley Johnson and Faye Melton, along with numerous nieces and nephews, and a wealth of dear friends.
He will be fondly and lovingly remembered as a man of God who loved the Lord with his whole being, mentored many, and walked in integrity and faith.
