Garland B. Robinson Jr.

Garland B. Robinson Jr. was born March 15,1950 to Garland Robinson Sr. and Etta (Drake) Robinson. Garland was residing in Houston, TX at the time of death. In 1975 he married Ruth Deane, a marriage and love that extended over 45 years.

Garland Robinson Jr was an active member of the Catholic Church, transferring his membership from Corpus Christi, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to St. John Vianney of Houston, TX. Garland graduated from Bishop McGuinness High School in 1968. In 1973 Garland graduated from Oklahoma State University. Upon graduation Garland begin his career in the oil and gas industry. His employers include Helmerich & Payne, Beard Oil, Mobil Oil, Conoco, and Marathon Oil which brought him back to Houston in 2005. Following his retirement, he worked as an independent consultant.

Garland Robinson Jr leaves to morn his wife Ruth Deane Robinson, two children Ashley Robinson, New York, NY, Garland (Rob) Robinson III, Houston, Texas, sister Deborah Tennyson, Diamond Bar, California, one brother, Reverend G. Laine Robinson (LeAnn) of Frisco, Texas, four nephews and a host of cousins.

Garland will be remembered for his warm and inviting personality, an unmistakable smile, love of music, always ready to copy his favorite CD for a friend, and while the Texas weather did little to improve his golf game, you could always find him on the courses.

A funeral mass for Garland will be held Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at 10:30 AM at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 625 Nottingham Oaks Trail, Houston, TX 77079. A cremation will occur.
