Born March 23, 1962, in Houston, Texas, Gary is one of five children to the late Anton “Popsi” and Barbara Huble. He graduated from Waltrip High School where he played Varsity Baseball.
Growing up, Gary could often by found playing sports at Oaks Dads’ Club or water skiing with his family on the San Jacinto River. He and his brother, Doug, carried on the cherished tradition by bringing their own children and friends to the same river. Family was always the highlight of every summer lake vacation.
Gary never met a stranger and was always the first to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Whether stopping to assist someone stranded on the side of the road to taking on a project for a friend, he gave his time generously and without hesitation. His greatest hero was his father, Popsi, so it came as no surprise to those who knew him when he followed in his father's footsteps, developing a deep passion for carpentry and making people’s dream homes come to life.
As hard as Gary worked, he played just as hard. On any given day, you could find Gary in a cut-off shirt, shorts, and Crocs, with a cold beer in hand. He loved a good steak, Keystone, ice cream, and his mother’s famous peanut butter cookies. While he was famous for his red beans and rice, it was his easygoing nature, hardworking spirit, generous heart, and sense of humor that left the greatest impression on those around him.
Gary is survived by his two sons: Riley Huble, his wife Jessica, and their daughter, Kennedy; and Drew Huble, his wife Mary, and their three children, Nathaniel, Sebastian, and Alfric.
He is also survived by his mother, Barbara Huble; his sister, Cheryl Lanclos, and her husband, Robert; his brothers, David Huble and his wife, Vicci, and Robert Huble and his wife, Teri; his sister in law, Julie Huble; his best friend Monty Valka and his wife, Jean; as well as numerous nieces and nephews: Robin, Nikki, Jason, Adam, Travis, Kelsie, Leigha, Brandon, Cori, Collin, Cameron, and Spencer.
Gary was preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children, Sandra Wisnoski Sustaita; his son, Landon Perry Huble; his father, Anton Huble; his brother, Doug Huble; and Clay Chappell.
At Gary’s request, no formal services will be held. A Celebration of Life with family and friends will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made directly to the family to assist with expenses. A portion of all contributions will be donated to Oak’s Dad’s Club in his memory.
