I met Gary almost 10 years ago when I started working for CSCH.  Gary and I became friends immediately.  I think it was because we both were from the mid-west and shared a lot of the same memories of growing up; and our thoughts, ideas and values were pretty much the same.  His love for Vicki, his children and grandchildren was something to be admired.  You could always hear the pride in his voice and see the love on his face when he talked about them.  Through these past 10 years we had a lot of laughs and enjoyed working together.  He always had a story or something funny to tell me that would make me smile the whole day.  I will truly miss my dear friend, Gary.  He was one of a kind. May you rest in peace.

I first met Gary at Carmichael and Dame Builders 20 years ago.  I also had the pleasure of working with him at Christopher Sims Custom Homes for many years.  We always shared building techniques and I always enjoyed having lunch with Gary.  He had an inner peace and joyous outlook on life.  He could see right through the bad and find the good in everything.  A rare trait in todays society but for Gary it all came naturally.  His memory will live on through me and my actions forever!

Gary was a very good man. He was always very pleasant and professional. We will miss him. Our sincere condolences to his wife and family.

It was an honor to care for Mr.Shaw.  My thoughts are with the family during this difficult time.  I will always remember the wonderful smile and his willingness to work with us even during trying times.  I still remember his firmness in his grip and not willing to let go of me when it was time to leave his room.  It was an honor to be part of his life.  He will be missed by all the staff members on our unit in 5HVI.

Gary was the best uncle I could have ever been blessed with. He never failed to put a smile on my face no matter what mood I was in. I always knew I could count on him and Aunt Vicki to come and support me at any soccer tournament I had in the Houston area, and I knew we would always end up eating at a Mexican food place afterwards. He had such a big heart and would be willing to help anyone out at any point in time. I'm gonna miss the beach trips, fishing trips, and listening to his hilarious stories and sarcasm. I know you will be my guardian angel as I begin a new chapter of my life in Fayetteville, starting at University of Arkansas. I know our plans have fallen through of us attending the Arkansas-Mizzou rivalry game together but I know you'll be right there with me.  Thank you for all the memories and laughs and I know you are up in heaven drinking some good wine, wearing some Tommy Bahama attire, and listening to Jimmy Buffett:-) I know everything is gonna be okay because you're in heaven. I love you bunches.

I had the pleasure of working with Gary on a few houses and I must say he was awesome at what he did.  He had a deep understanding of how to execute the plans and build the masterpiece envisioned in each of the jobs he worked on.  The housing industry is definetly going to feel a hole left by Gary.

My grandad always put a smile on my face no matter what it was that he did for my sister and I. He was always so so generous and seemed to know an un endless number of cupcake shops to take us to. I always enjoyed being around him and liked knowing that I always had a role model right in front of me to look up to. He was so proud of my sister and I in everything we did and never failed to show that. My grandad and I have so many wonderful memories that I will never forget. This whole situation has taught me to cherish any moment you spend with someone as life is delicate and fragile and doesn't last forever. I know that my grandad has a wonderful life up in the Lord's kingdom and will always be looking down on us. I love you so much grandad.

What I will miss about our Gary is his smile, his laugh, his bbq, his magnificent Christmas displays, his sense of adventure, his fun road trips, his deafening stereo volume, walking through the beautiful homes he built, his green thumb and his love of trains, cats and wine, to name a few. To say good-bye to a BEST FRIEND of 40 years is one of life's most difficult moments. My life has truly been blessed to have loved and been loved by a wonderful friend named Gary Thomas Shaw. His twinkling eyes and infectious laugh could light up a room! A man of honor with a heart of gold who can never be replaced, Gary Thomas Shaw will always be my PRICELESS friend! My wife, Barbara and I send our abundant love to Vicki and family in celebrating a life well lived, but much too short.  I so wanted more time with my best friend!

As a designer I  have worked with many builders during the past 25 years and Gary Shaw was absolutly one of the very top in his field.  Patient, detailed, experienced and always willing to go the mile for the client! I had such a high regard for him professionally. Gary also was just a great human in that he was always so personable and had that gift of being a warm hearted individual.  I know his family will keep his spirit alive in their hearts and may it bring some bit of comfort during this sad time of loss.

I have know Gary for over 6 years, HE was the one that introduced our company to Chris. We had the experience of working with Gary in the home building business. He was always professional and courteous to our entire orgainzation.
