

Gary James Stover of Cypress Texas was taken home to be with the Lord on Sunday 2 February 2025.He had been under the loving care of Altus Hospice, Always Best Care Cypress, an in-home care for seniors, and his wife of 28 years, Phyllis A. Stover.
Gary was born on 10 August 1942 at 119 Hazel Place, Wilkinsburg, Allegheny, Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late James E. Stover and Eleanor M (repp) Stover.
After graduating from High school he joined the Navy and then the Marines, serving from 1 December 1959 through 16 October 1963 achieving the rank of Corporal. he was also a paramedic for 18 years. After his military career he embarked on a law enforcement career which led to his assignment of personal safety and protection of the president of Westinghouse Corporation first in Pittsburgh and later in Naples, Florida. His entire life was spent in serving and taking care of others.
All who knew him enjoyed his dry "sense of humor" and how he was always constantly taking care of the needs of others. Gary was a man of great caring and integrity and he will be missed by all who know him and loved him.
Gary is survived by his wife Phyllis (West-Johnson-Stover) of Cypress, niece Erika, her husband Pete, and their precious children Jake and Marshall Hoffman of Katy, and; his nephew Jeremy and wife Bernadette Weidenhof of Houston.
Services will take place at Brookside Funeral Home- Cypress Creek, 9149 Hwy 6 North/Houston texas 77095.
