Gavin was loved by all of his family and his many friends, and he never met a stranger, making friends everywhere he went. While living in China, he learned to speak Mandarin, he also found a love for basketball and made many lasting friendships while residing there. The family later moved back to the states and Gavin worked at a restaurant, Mein, where his bilingual skill got to shine as he spoke to his customers and coworkers in Mandarin. He wanted to learn more about his fathers business in the construction world, so he started working with him in Odessa, TX. His passion was working with machinery and equipment at the job sites and he proved to have a real talent for it. He took pride in working with his hands and accomplishing new goals at work. Gavin's enthusiasm helped him turn out to be the best mechanics at the company. In his down time you could find him grilling on the bbq pit and he liked online gaming. He will always be remembered as the friendly, outgoing, and kind person he was, who would be quick with a smile and ready to project his positive attitude onto others.
Left to cherish his memories are his father Duke Popowitz and wife Lori, mother Jennifer Vaughan, son Phoenix Sandoval, grandmother Brenda Peoples, uncle Sam Popowitz, sisters; Karenza, Journey and Lyric, brother Zaden, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.
