Dearest,
Please know how very sorry we are for your loss. We loved Gaylon so very much. He was one of the most loving and generous men that we have known. He will be greatly missed, but we take comfort in knowing that he is with God, and all of his loved ones already sharing in the beauty that is Heaven. We pray that God will embrace you all with the peace that only he can give. You are all on our hearts and in our prayers.
Love to all,
Jennifer, Dennis, Russell and Mary Margaret Jenkins, Marsha and Brian Swider

This was his 80th year and hadn’t flown as pilot in command since before his surgery in 2006.
We flew to Sunrise Beach Airport Community where the grass runway is long and wide. We did some pattern work we called it and I turned him loose in the flying lawn chair for the first time. (2013)

No one knew Gaylon better then I did and I do mean no one. We spent many a night talking about how we felt. And our plans when we got out of the service. I was also in the 29th AAA we were in Korea and Japan together we hit it off as soon as we met he was 18 and I was 17 years old we needed each other. After we got home. After about 20 years later he called me and we renewed our friendship. We did have our differences but I loved him like a Brother.

I didn't get to be around Gaylon often, but I'll never forget the conversation we had at Freddie Mills' funeral about how blessed we were to have married into that family. I would have liked to get to know him better. Prayers for those who loved him.

I will remember the man who loved his wife and family. Though he didn’t have the formal education, he could have been a professor of an Ivey league school! His work ethic and his hunger for knowledge exceeded most men I’ve known. Dad gave me the gift of flight and the strength of courage. I will miss him and talk about him until we meet again.
