Gemma Jacqueline Williams of Richmond, Texas passed away on June 20th 2025 at the age of 74. She was born on August 26, 1950 in San Fernando, Trinidad in the West Indies. Where she grew up taking the lead and took great pleasure in being a mother figure to all she care for. She moved to United States in the early 70’s finally moving to Houston, Texas in the 80’s where she called home and made many friends.
She graduated from Letourneau University in early 2000’s. Working as an Accountant throughout her life, making many friends throughout her career.
She was actively involved in Church of Ascension as an usher, member of the vestry, on the school board, and on the Altar Guild. She served at the Mission of Yahweh with Lunch with Friends, attended Tuesday Bible Study, was on the Sunday prayer team, and met with her friends every Friday at J&D Caribbean.
She is preceded in death by her mother Ena Victor, father Alfa Chase, and brother Steve Kelly Nelson
She is survived by her son Alpha, daughter Alexandria, grand-daughter Melanie, sisters Ingrid Greene and Nola Antoine, brother David Nelson and many nieces, nephews and cousins who she loved deeply.
The family would like to thank all her friends who help the family during this difficult time for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in her final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of life at Church of Ascension 2525 Seagler Road Houston, TX 77042 US on June 28th, 2025 at 11am, followed by reception at Church of Ascension Parish Hall across from the church. The service will also be streamed on YouTube link to follow. Please wear white, or color no black.
