

George W. Asaf, 72, of Houston TX, passed away on Sunday, June 12th, 2022. He was born on Nov 10th, 1949. George was a caring husband, father, brother, and a loving grandfather. He dedicated his professional career to several roles in accounting and internal audit. He was known for his professionalism, work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
George was a world traveler and took pride in that, he had a deep interest in history, geography, and international affairs. Engaging in informative historical conversations was one of the things he enjoyed the most. Nearly everyone who knew him, family, friends, and colleagues, would be amazed at his ability to remember and know exact dates for historical and personal events. He placed importance on languages and spoke English, Spanish, and Portuguese fluently. One of his professional assignments brought him to Colombia in 1982, where he met his wife, Gloria Asaf. They married on December 10, 1983, and have lived in Houston ever since.
George W. Asaf was born to George Asaf and Mary Tassin. He was raised by his father and stepmother, Georgette K. Asaf, who he loved dearly. In his free time, George enjoyed watching documentaries and having deep discussions about them, reading history, traveling around the world with his wife, and spending time with his granddaughters.
George treasured the memories of the trips he made with his wife and sons when they were young. He also treasured his time with his beloved younger brother, Gregory Asaf, and nephew, Gavin Asaf. As a caring father, brother, and uncle, George always gave guidance and advice. He emphasized education as the way forward. He will be remembered for that.
George is survived by his loving wife, Gloria Asaf, his sons Gregory and Philip, their wives Cynthia and Melissa, granddaughters Isabelle, Nicole, and Gemma, his brother Gregory and wife, Kathy, and nephew, Gavin.
