

George William Bamberg, Jr. of Houston, Texas, Passed away June 5, 2024.He was born in Jackson, Mississippi June 14, 1942. The family moved to Houston, Texas a few years later and joined Second Baptist Church where George was baptized at the age of eight.
George graduated from Lamar High School in 1960, went to Texas A&M University, graduated from Texas Weslayan, and received his law degree from Baylor University in 1966. He practiced real estate and transactional law for over 50 years. He retired from Morris, Lendais, and Snowden in July, 2019.
George’s talent as a Tenor singer and his love for classical and choral music was his greatest interest. He excelled in piano as a young child and sang in High School and Youth Church Choirs. These experiences thrust him into being a Singing Cadet while attending Texas A&M University. He continued singing with the Houston Symphony Chorale, Houston Masterworks Chorus, and the First Baptist Church Choir for 35 years where he participated in the Houston Christmas Pageants and enjoyed many wonderful stateside and international choir trips with his wife Linda. George was an avid Aggie fan and enjoyed watching all types of sporting events.
George is preceded in death by his parents, George and Juanita Bamberg. He is survived by his wife Linda of 33 years, his son Todd and wife Julia, and grandchildren Milo, Xyla, Vie, and Lorelei, as well as his many friends from various walks in life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to First Baptist Church Music Ministry or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
There will be a Celebration of Life at Houston’s First Baptist Church on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at 11:00 A.M..
