George was born in Poughkeepsie, New York. He played semi-professional baseball and served in the Army for two years. He married Helen Garifalis. He received a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Syracuse University. In 1965 George was transferred to Texas with GE to work at NASA as a Quality Control Engineer. After retiring, he worked part-time as a substitute teacher in Spring Branch ISD. George is survived by his wife, Helen, and children, Peter, Clea, and Chris.
George enjoyed being a grandfather, "Pappou", to Kenneth, Eleni, Helen and Rose. George liked reading, playing solitaire and watching classic movies. George was a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church where he volunteered for the Greek Festival for 50 consecutive years. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor and modesty.
He will be truly missed. May his memory be eternal!
