He was preceded in death by Mary, his beloved wife of 58 years. He is survived by his daughter, Patricia A. Wood, his sons Daniel T. and Thomas A. Wood and his wife, Stacy; grandchildren Angela, Christina, Victoria, Daniel, Jr. and his wife Rachael and Nicole, Ricky, Anthony, and Zachary; great grandchildren Sarah, Holly, Melanie, Sophia, and Mark.
George served in the Navy during WW II. He was a lifelong employee of Garlock, Inc. after earning his degree in Accounting from Rider College in New Jersey. He and his wife, Mary, were members of St. Stephen's Methodist Church in Oak Forest. His quick wit, sense of humor, infectious smile, and willingness to lend a hand to others will be fondly remembered by those of us who had the good fortune to have known him.
The family will greet friends from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. at the Texas Liberty Chapel at Memorial Oaks Cemetery. The Funeral Service will begin at 2:00pm, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77079, with interment to follow.
