

Mrs. Geraldine “Geri” W. Haynes, 78, went Home to be with the Lord on November 12, 2015, in Houston, Texas. She was born February 19, 1937, in Ligonier, PA, to William and Lillian Waugh. Geri was married 58 years to Charles Thomas Haynes, Sr., also of Houston.
Geri’s love of, and exuberance for, Life was evident in her varied passions including bird watching, re-weaving, gardening, meditation and T’ai Chi. It was in her later years when she became immersed in the art of T’ai Chi.
Through her hard work and dedication, Geri traveled to China in 2001 to compete internationally, and returned home with Gold, Silver and Bronze medals. She was the first American woman in her age class to be so recognized. Geri loved to teach and share her passion of T’ai Chi to whomever was interested.
Geri was blessed with a very generous heart, and gave of her time and energy whenever she could. She brightened the lives of all those around her, whether they knew her or not.
Geri was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Pinkie and Esther, and her brother, Billy. She is survived by her husband, Charles, her three children, Charles and David Haynes and Carolyn Henry, her grandchildren Natalie Webster, Joseph Haynes, Sarah, Aaron and Evan Henry, and great grandchildren Molly Mae and Ada Kate Webster, and Corban Henry.
A Memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 2:00 pm in The Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024.
