

Geraldine “Jerry” Taylor, age 87, was called to the Lord on Monday, June 10, 2013 after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Charles F. Taylor; daughters, Robin and husband, Ron Crawford and their three children, Ryan Nicole and Reese Garcia, and Scott Crawford; Brenda and her husband, Marc Sutherland and their daughter, Amanda; their son, Richard L. Taylor; daughter, Lynne and her husband, Albert Behrend and their children, Skipper and Alicia, and five grandchildren. Geraldine “Jerry” Taylor was born in Chickasa, Oklahoma on February 5, 1926. During her childhood, she became a competitive roller skater and her mother, Leota, was quite the seamstress and made all of her costumes. Jerry also taught herself to play the piano and her favorite dog would sit on the stool next to her. In her twenties, Jerry, her first born child Lynne and Leota moved to Houston and she worked for the Greater Houston Credit Bureau for approximately ten years. Jerry married Charles Taylor in 1955 and they traveled extensively with Tennessee Gas and Pipeline and finally settled back in Houston with their three children, Robin, Brenda and Ricky. Jerry devoted her time to the school PTA, being homeroom mom for three kids, Ladies Auxiliary for her son’s little league, girl scouts, garage sales, sewing and to her three grandchildren, Ryan Nicole, Reese and Amanda. Jerry’s immense organizational skills enhanced her many interests and allowed her to be so incredibly busy and make it all look so easy. Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Brookside Funeral Home-Cypress Creek, 9149 Highway 6 North in Houston. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Friday at the funeral home with interment following at Rosewood Park Cemetery, 2602 Old Humble Road, Humble, Texas.
