Gilbert Montemayor

Gilbert Montemayor, age 74 of Houston, passed away on October 12, 2023. He was preceded in death by parents, Cruz G. Montemayor and Dolores Vega Montemayor, as well as beloved wife, Blanca Montemayor, and sister Rosalinda Eads.

Gilbert graduated from Jeff Davis High School and retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He took pride in serving with the U.S. Navy and retired from the Texas Air Guard.

He is survived by his children Francine M. Guerrero, Gilbert Jr. (Jodie) and Rolando Montemayor; six grandchildren, Thomas and Nathan Guerrero and Leeland, Priya, Amadie and Emmie Montemayor. He also has two surviving siblings, Dolores Lumme (Vance) and Joe A. Montemayor (Gloria), as well as a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A memorial mass will be held on Monday, October 23, 2023 at 10:00AM, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 4213 Mangum Rd, Houston, TX 77092. Interment will follow at 12:30PM at the V.A. Cemetery, 10401 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038.
