We are so blessed for having Gilda in our lives! I vividly remember visiting Santos and Gilda in Houston. We, too, would sit at the kitchen table and just talk and laugh all night.
Luckily, we had the opportunity to see her exactly four weeks before her passing. On that Sunday, Feb. 9 when I hugged her, tears just fell down. She was the same person that I probably last saw on my wedding day in 1997. She was so loving and so happy to hear about my family. It was so heart warming just to be sitting in their home once again. Gilda’s kitchen looked smaller; however, her collection of family photos and antique dolls were still there. She was so happy to see us, my dad and my daughter, Carissa.
Thank you, Gilda, for all your love. I’ll never forget your high-pitched voice and that beautiful smile and contagious laugh.
May you rest in eternal peace.

Looking at all these pictures, I can still hear your laugh, I remember you telling me how you hit all the wild cherries for your big Las Vegas jackpot and always asking me if I wanted some soda water when I would come to your house! Had no clue what soda water was until you told me! Lol. I will never forget the fun times at the Sylvester house where the kitchen was filled with chickens when I was a teenager! Enjoy your celebration in Heaven Aunt Gilda, we will all miss you dearly but happy to know that you are in a beautiful place now and pain free! 💕

How I'm going to miss my aunt Hilda (as I know her). I would drive on 45 north and wave as I passed up Sylvester street. I would make it a point to stop by to visit her and my uncle Santos whenever my Mom and I would be going somewhere that drew us close to their home. Always unannounced which wasn't right but I had to see them. I'll always remember her beautiful smile and her laughter. My thoughts and prayers are with my cousins Lisa and Victor Manuel. With her grand kids, too. I know it's very difficult for them right now. Dear God, please bless, protect and guide them. I love my family so much.

Our beloved Grandma, who we will miss dearly and always carry in our hearts. Gone, but never forgotten, our guardian angel who now watches over us. I love you, Grandma, I know you're resting in paradise in the arms of our father.
