Gladys Elisabeth Bailey

Gladys E. Bailey born February 4, 1925 in Louisville, KY passed away on July 18, 2017 in Chappell Hill, TX. She was born to Frank S. Henry, Sr. and Myra Ethel Fisher Henry. Her lifetime home was Houston, Texas where she resided with her husband, Joseph W. Bailey, later moving to New Caney, Texas. They were married on July 18, 1942 for 69 years until his passing in 2011. She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving Children: Betty Bailey Brown and husband Leon, Weldon Bailey and wife Diane, Clyde Bailey, Barbara Bailey White and husband Johnny. Grandchildren: Jeffrey, Jessica, Berit, Krisha, Angela, Amanda, Brent, Adam, Megan, and Dana. Great-grandchildren: Sloan, Charlie, Severn, Tyler, Claire, Jonah, Logan, and Carter

She and her husband were the co-owners and founders of feed and hardware stores on the North side of Houston. They were active in the Aldine School District and communities further north in Humble, Kingwood, New Caney, and Navasota.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph W. Bailey and her daughter-in-law Cynthia D. Bailey.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm on Sunday, July 23, 2017. Services will be held the following day, July 24, 2017 at 2pm at the Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX.
