Gladys was born and raised in Houston, Texas, on October 20, 1930, to Annie (Phillips) and Henry Klenk. She attended Trinity Lutheran School and graduated from Reagan High School. Gladys worked as an escrow officer in the title business until her retirement. During her retirement, she enjoyed her favorite activities, including needlepoint, reading, watching classic films, and, of course, cooking.
She was a beloved mother who will be remembered for her passion for cooking and her joy in spending time with friends and family.
Gladys was preceded in death by her previous husband Milton Albert; her mother Annie Klenk and her father Henry Klenk; and her brother Felix Klenk.
Gladys is survived by her husband Carl Ferm, son Michael Albert and his wife Susan; her grandson John Albert, his wife Terin, and their son James; her granddaughter Kathryn Albert Knecht and her husband Jared; her daughter Elaine Rhea; her step-daughter Cynthia Smith and her husband Mal; her step-granddaughter Jennifer Vanderschoor, her husband Craig, and their son Braden; her step-daughter Kersti Carney and her husband Chris, their children Kathryn Benoit and her husband Mike, Philip Carney and his wife Amanda, Katie Overton and her husband Eric, and Kacie Carney; and her step-daughter Brita Ferm and her husband Richard.
