October 17, 1943June 10, 2021

Glenda Lee Howard, 77, of Katy Texas, went home to be with our Lord and savior on June10, 2021 after a wonderfully blessed life full of love.

Glenda was born on October 17,1943 to Glenn and Opal McQueen in Kansas City, Missouri. She was to be the only child. Her father was in the military, and she spent many years living with her mother and her mother’s parents on their farm while her father was overseas. She loved her grandparents and had lots of stories about growing up with them. After graduating from Wichita Falls High School in Wichita Falls Texas in 1961, she went to work at Shepard AFB. She was an accomplished accountant and oversaw many departments before her next adventure.

In October of 1963, while working at Shepard AFB, she met James C Howard, and they wed in December of the same year. Or as Jim likes to tell it eighty days later. He told her then “Marry me and I’ll take you around the world!” They were only blessed to have one child, a daughter, Robin. And as he told her they did travel. Glenda went wherever Jim’s job sent them. She lived in Germany and Spain and visited and actually camped all over Europe. Moving back to Ft Rucker, Alabama and then Ft Polk Louisiana before settling in Houston, Texas.

Here in Houston, she worked for BT Miller in human resources through all the changes and eventually retired from Corporate Express as VP of Human Resources in 2006. After retiring Glenda and Jim RV’d extensively visiting all 48 states.

Glenda was a member of St Pauls Episcopal Church of Katy and was very active until the last year. She enjoyed being an usher, working with The Gathering and many of the women’s groups. Glenda was devout and very strong in her faith.

Glenda was also a member of the women’s sorority Beta Sigma Phi. She had belonged to this group for many many years having joined originally when they were stationed in Alabama.

Glenda was predeceased by her parents, Opal and Glenn McQueen. She is survived by husband, James Howard, daughter Robin Arrambide and son-in-law O’Keefe Arrambide, four grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren, who will miss her greatly and love her deeply.

To all of us who loved her. Glenda was such a fabulous woman who so loved her life. The one thing so many of us got to share was her Sisterhood in Beta Sigma Phi. This gave so many of us time to know, grow and, admire her as the woman she was and always will be.

GOD bless her soul and give her HIS eternal peace.

me, sam - I will always be thy Sister xoxo in GOD's name.
